The 2011 Readers’ Choice Awards drew unparalleled participation worldwide with more votes cast by spa-goers across more countries, regions. A concept success story
The growth of adventure and spa tourism in North America was the starting point of the Scandinave Spa concept over 12 years ago. A small group of investors, including former NHL hockey stars, opened the first location in Mont Tremblant, Quebec in December 1999. Seeing a opportunity to build on the success of Ontario’s premier ski area, the first franchise-operated Scandinave Spa opened in the Town of Blue Mountains in December 2006. An urban-style thermal spa, Scandinave Les Bains, opened in Old Montreal, Quebec in January 2009. And another corporately-owned location opened in Whistler, B.C. February, 2010.
