As one of Canada’s premier guest ranches, Echo Valley Ranch & Spa really is an exceptional heath and well being experience. Offering Cariboo hospitality and wilderness adventure, all with a touch of Thai, Echo Valley’s range of eco- activities, spa services, healthy gourmet cuisine and first class accommodations create a one-of-a-kind destination that has attracted media attention world-wide.
Founded in 1995 by Norm and Nanthawon Dove, Echo Valley’s signature is its "East meets West" theme and its commitment to incorporating the ancient wisdom of traditional Asian wellness therapies, with a focus on Thai, into its regular spa services. These include Thai facials, Thai herbal steams, a Luk Pra Kob hot compress treatment and the ever popular Thai massage. Often described as a passive yoga, the Thai therapist gently manipulates muscles and joints into stress-releasing positions that leave the recipient relaxed, refreshed and feeling more expansive. All Echo Valley practitioners have been trained in Thailand and each has an innate ability to ‘hear’ the body with their hands.
Many of these treatments are given in the spectacular Baan Thai pavilion. Designed by Dr. Pinyo Suwankiri, architect to the Royal Family, this beautiful building is the only Baan Thai in North America and is a luxurious blend of Canadian cedar, teak from Thailand and many decorative pieces that were carved by master craftsmen in Thailand. But the Echo Valley experience offers even more, in large part because of its extraordinary location amidst four distinct geographic regions. To the east lie the Marble Range and Edge Hill mountains, to the south is the Fraser Canyon with near desert conditions, to the west are grasslands, and to the north a Cariboo plateau with countless lakes and marsh lands. Consequently, soft adventures are endless, from horseback riding, hiking, river rafting, and birding, to fly-in fishing, and more. Many specialty packages highlight these interests as well as areas such as learning to ‘cook like a pro’ and lifestyle wellness. Echo Valley can host up to 30 guests (40 if a single group) in beautifully appointed lodge accommodation or private cabins. Facilities include wireless internet access, games room, indoor pool, a fitness centre, hot tub and sauna, a 3,000 sq ft meeting area for workshops, meetings and entertainment as well as a full schedule of optional activities that encourage guests to explore the peace and abundance of the natural surrounds.
